The truth about referrals
Partners don’t refer because you asked. They refer because:
- their patient gets seen quickly,
- they receive updates,
- and the experience makes them look competent.
Hack: Offer a single “referral concierge” line/email that replies same day. This alone increases trust dramatically.
Weekly system (60 minutes)
- Add 5 partner targets/week.
- Do 5 short outreaches/week (email/phone).
- Deliver a 1-page referral guide (services + availability + how to refer).
- Send partner updates for referred patients (as allowed by policy).
Outreach script (non-cringe)
“Hi [Name], we’re getting a lot of [type] patients and we can usually see them quickly. If you ever need a reliable place for your patients, we’ll make it easy and keep you updated. Can I send our referral guide and availability?”
Then actually follow through with speed and updates. That’s the differentiator.
Implementation checklist (copy/paste)
- Choose the KPI you want to move.
- Implement one workflow change (SOP + checklist).
- QA sample 10 items/day for 5 days.
- Publish a 1‑page weekly report: KPI, blockers, next action.
